Peter Tochtermann studied Law and Chemistry at the University of Heidelberg from which he graduated in 2001. He was a Visiting Scholar sponsored by the German Academic Scholarship Foundation at both the Dispute Resolution Institute, Hamline University, St. Paul (MN), USA as well as the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School, Cambridge (MA), USA (2005/2006), where he worked on his comparative Ph.D. on “The Independence and Impartiality of the Mediator” (University of Heidelberg, summa cum laude, 2008). He is a Honorary Professor at the University of Heidelberg and publishes extensively with a particular focus on Patent Law.
