Lisbon Patents & Standards Conference 2026

The establishment of the Unified Patent Court (UPC) marks a major milestone in the European intellectual property landscape. For the first time, a completely integrated judicial system enabled streamlined patent litigation across multiple EU member states, promising greater efficiency, consistency, and predictability to patent enforcement in Europe.

Now, two and a half years after its release, and as the UPC begins to develop its jurisprudence, the need for informed discussion and knowledge sharing has never been greater. The Lisbon PSC 2026 is designed to serve as a platform for exactly that: a forum for practitioners, judges, and innovators to exchange views, learn from early cases, explore what this transformation means in practice - and what we can expect for the future.

Featuring ten UPC judges from several Contracting Member States, alongside leading patent litigators, the Lisbon PSC2026 will gather participants from all across the globe who are shaping the future of patent enforcement and innovation in Europe. It will offer an unique opportunity to connect, collaborate, and exchange ideas with key figures in the field.

The program will include panels
•  addressing landmark rulings
•  providing practical guidance on case preparation and argumentation
•  exploring injunction relief
•  discussing strategic considerations in (not only) SEP and FRAND litigation
•  analysing the evolving relationship between the EPO and the UPC
•  assessing the development of legal standards
•  and much more

Together, these sessions promise a full day of insight learning with multiple networking breaks.

Whether you are already working with UPC cases or wish to understand its implications, the Conference offers you the clarity, confidence and connections to engage effectively in this new era of European patent law.
